From the Coach...
I’m Lay. I was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. When I was in high school, I decided I wanted to travel and be a teacher so I studied Linguistics at the University of Cape Town. After graduation, I worked a few part time jobs to save and eventually, it was time to move abroad. I chose Japan because I loved Sushi, Pokémon & Harajuku fashion. My plan was to stay there for 1 year… but I loved it so much, I stayed for 7.
My Method
In this course, I won’t be your teacher, I’ll be your coach. I won’t be telling you what to study, I’ll show you how.
to study English, not just what All my methods have been tried, developed and tested by me. I taught myself Japanese and Spanish using these methods. The purpose of my course is not to teach you the boring way, but to coach you. Everyone is different and we all learn in different ways. I want to help you find the best way.
IMPORTANT: I offer a once-off 6 session course where I help you find your studying style. I coach people to be more determined, and motivated. My goal is not to keep you as a long-term student. I want you to understand your strengths and weaknesses, learn from them, and be more productive with your English study.
I offer helpful resources, fun websites, interesting study methods, YouTube recommendations, useful applications and so much more. I want my course to inspire and motivate you to learn English in your own way – NOT with expensive textbooks. I want my students to improve their English level, not only with me, but with foreigners in general. I want to change your thinking and attitude about English study.

NOTE: These lessons are not for absolute beginners. There will be an introduction trial lessons and level check before paying fully.
